We have arrived in Bangkok after an uneventful overnight flight. Now waiting for the connecting flight to Chiang Mai. Smoggy / a bit overcast but the sun is shining.
Have arrived in Chiang Mai. We were met as we came through customs by Pong, our guide for the next couple of days. There is 7 of us all together on the flight and 31 in total on the tour. We are driven to our hotel and as we pass through the town we see the original wall now 720 years old, with the moat still in existence.
Our hotel is comfortable and has free wifi, so the blog will be updated for the next couple of days. Just some chill out time before we start exploring for lunch.
Lunch is a Burmese restaurant, The Swan just down the road. Beautiful food. Lovely flavours. Then we have a tuk tuk ride around the old town stopping at a few of the temples. Back to the hotel for a cold beer and some down time before dinner. Might skip the night markets tonight for an early night. We have to be downstairs by 8am tomorrow!
